One thing I have always found astonishing~~and still do, to this day~~is Alex's ability to be completely loving when he is woken up from sleep, which is rather often in our busy house. I find it remarkable that a well-meaning wife or child can pounce on top of him in the midst of deep slumber and he will smile and say something encouraging. It's almost fun to wake him up just to experience it! (yep, I admit it, honey) :) And then he can go right back to sleep. I don't relate at all~~my mother will tell you that she practically wore a shield and armed herself when trying to encourage me from my reading chair to my bed as a teenager when I had fallen asleep in the wee hours. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..........
