Getting back into the swing of things

After three days, I continue to feel satisfied with our schedule, process, curricula, etc. Possibly this is because I am more confident this year and can see the "bigger picture," and partly this is because we don't have to get out the door to get the twins to preschool. The mornings have been far more relaxed. I am waking the kids up at 8. Then, once they're dressed and so on, the schedule looks like this from 9-1. (After that, the kids are free to play, read, work on crafts/projects, etc.)

Monday
  • Religion
  • Memorization/Handwriting
  • Mathematics
  • History
  • Geography/Mapwork
  • Skating
Tuesday/Thursday
  • Religion
  • Memorization/Handwriting
  • Literature
  • Five-in-a-Row (Social Studies, Art, Science, Math, Language Arts ~ varies according to day)
  • German
  • Practice recorder
Wednesday/Friday
  • Mass
  • Memorization/Handwriting
  • Five in a Row
  • Art/Music appreciation
  • Handiwork/carpentry
  • Skating
We didn't get to German this week because I need to install our Rosetta Stone software. Handiwork this week consists of Alex and the kids doing oil changes on the trucks (they are shopping for equipment right now). A book we are loving right now is Hallelujah Handel, augmented by frequent rousing and loud tracks from Messiah. "Are you CRYING, Mom?!?" If only I could keep it together...lol
